Built in the 1970s as a private home, House of Waine is now owned and run by a local African family. The name ‘Waine’ has special meaning as it contains the initials of the members of the family who own it. Located in Karen a suburb of Nairobi which was named after Karen Blixen, and 2km from the Karen Blixen museum, it is set in 2.5 acres in a serene setting.
